Compute Cloud (CC) – Public IPs – User Agreement

Prerequisites

  • The institution/user has proven sufficient knowledge to safely operate a server on the public internet.
  • The institution/user has a/is contact person/administrator available to work with the RRZE.
  • The institution/user reports any malfunctions affecting operation to the RRZE service desk (email: noc@fau.de and cc-support@rrze.de, telephone: +49 9131 85-29955).

Terms and conditions

  • The RRZE provides users with a publicly routed IP address for their instance, (software) router or loadbalancer.
  • Use is permitted for research and teaching purposes only.
  • The specified ports are enforced by ACLs subject to a positive check.
  • Changes to the ports are only possible by submitting a new application and are subject to review by the RRZE.
  • Permanent use of the public IP is not intended.
  • The DNS entries are predefined. A CNAME can be requested. Among other things, the usual FAU guidelines apply: https://www.rrze.fau.de/infocenter/rahmenbedingungen/richtlinien/domainnamen/
  • A basic requirement is compliance of the guidelines applicable at FAU.
  • The RRZE will immediately shut down and without prior notice the system or IP address in the event of any irregularities.
